Family Tree

This family tree I made for my parents is probably one of my favorite paper crafts I have made.  My mom framed it and now it hangs near their front door.  I need to make one of these for our home, too.  Someday...

I just used a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper for the background, scrapbook paper for the circles that make up the tree, buttons, and brads.  Some of the paper I stamped on also.  I used a background stamp on the paper I cut for the tree trunk.

This was so much fun to make! :)

ETSY EXTRAVAGANZA!!

Me and My Bucket is holding an Etsy Extravaganza!  You can go link up your shop if you have one.  What a neat way to go check out your etsy shops all in one place!

These rocks have a lot to say...

I planned on eventually making chalkboard rocks with paint, but then I found these...Inspired by Pottery Barn, Lizard & Ladybug made some fun chalkboard looking rocks.  So a bag of accent rocks and paint pen later this is what I had.

For now they are in a vase on a bookshelf.

I found my rocks at Michaels for $2 something.  I just saw them at a dollar store for $1...fyi.
Happy creating

Crafting munchkins

I have used a giant frame to display the beautiful artwork by my little munchkins.  I posted about it here.  Now I need the wall space where that is hanging for something else.  I don't have another free spot to hang that giant frame, so I came us with my own little creation.
I wanted to move their art display to their toy area anyway.

I really wanted to use a piece of wood to make this, but I used what I had.  Eventually I'll probably make it with wood instead of cardboard :).  For now I cut up this long box as my base. (Note the random cow puzzle piece on the floor.)

I am so bad at remembering to take pictures for each step as I work!  I will get better at that!  I covered my long piece of cardboard with paper from a roll of drawing paper.  I just wrapped it like a present.  I used my cricut to cut out the brackets and the word "create".  I added twine along the bottom, and used clothespins to hang those cutesy works of art!

I wanted to use the twine instead of just attaching the clothespins to the board so that I wouldn't have to worry about the spacing of the pictures (if that makes sense?).

For now I like it.  I change my mind so often who knows what I'll want to do with it by next week!

Cutest Candy Jar Ever

I found the CUTEST candy jar over at A Pumpkin And A Princess!  You have to go check it out.  I just HAD to make one right away.  Hers is bigger and a super cute Halloween theme.  Now here is mine.
I made it as a gift for a birthday party we have next week.
This is all you need to make it!
Easy and inexpensive.  My kind of craft!
Thanks, A Pumpkin And A Princess for the super cute idea!

Marshmallow Delight

For Christmas a few years ago my cousin gave all of us ladies a framed copy of one of my Grandma's recipes.  It's special because it is in Grandma's own handwriting.  I love it.  "Marshmallow Delight" has been hanging in my kitchen since it was given to me.

I've been wanting to add to it.
I took some scrapbook paper, embellishments, and a larger frame and got to it.
Here is the final product:

My Grandma made this marshmallow dish every holiday.  Honestly, I never really ate it back then.  Not because I didn't like it, because it's really, really good.  I guess there were just too many other options at holiday meals.  Now I always have a serving when my mom makes it on holidays.

In this layout I also included two other family recipes.
My Great-Grandmother used to make yummy peanut butter balls every Christmas.

Yes, my Grandpa threw some ingredients together and called it "slop."
I assure you it is actually good despite the name.

I do like the end result.  It has sentimental value.  Now to hang it over my stove...

All Fairies Welcome

Yesterday we bought the new Tinkerbell movie.  How cute was it!!  I love that the little girl liked to draw, because it got my Ladybug drawing which is a challenge these days.  I also love that she made a fairy house.  We love fairy houses, gardens, and doors over here!  I was inspired to make an autumn fairy house with my Ladybug.  I think it's typically a spring and summer thing, but we are making our own rules :)

We used a giant empty fishy cracker box.  I cut out the door and windows and Ladybug painted it.

I cut leaves from construction paper, and she taped them on for the roof.
I had some small flowers in my scrapbook stash that Ladybug colored Fall colors.  We used glue dots to stick them on, and then she drew the stems with markers.

We made a "Welcome Fairies" sign just like in the movie.

It's not finished yet, but you get the idea.  We want to "embellish"  the inside and outside some more.  I think every now and then I might even leave some sort of little fairy gift inside for Ladybug to find.
I'll add the pictures when we finish our project!
